Woke up this morning, turned on the news, Holy Snikers! Japan's ground was shaking like never before, 8.9 on the scale. Not sure what a 8.9 is, but watching it on TV was scary, scary stuff. If that wasn't bad enough then the Tsunami hit. The news man said the wave of destruction was traveling 5,000 miles across the ocean to the West Coast, at the speed of a jet airliner. Mom quickly got on her laptop and started checking with our family and friends, four legged ones included. I was relieved to hear everyone was on high ground including my friend Noodle. I feel a special connection to Japan, my name is Japanese, when translated means Beloved. It hard to fathom a 30 foot wall of water wave traveling 6 miles inland, very, very scary.
My prayers are with Japan and everyone effected by the earthquake and tsunami.
It sure is hard to fathom something like a 30 foot wall of water, isn't it? Watching the news was almost surreal - in many ways it was a feeling of deja vu from the 2004 Christmas tsunami. Thanks for reminding people of all those affected by this tragedy.
ReplyDeleteYou are so smart and so caring for those all over the world. The pic for this blog is so appropriate. You were also sad that day your great-grandpa died.
ReplyDeleteMy dad and mom are praying with your mom for all those affected in Japan and our West Coast.
As always,
Pooh Bear & ML

Noodle,
ReplyDeleteSo glad you and your humans are safe and sound. I'm still at a loss for words on what I see on the tube.

Pooh Bear & ML,
ReplyDeleteJapan needs all the prayers they can get, especially with the melt down.
Mom's eyes started leaking when she read your comment about my Great Grandpa. He was a great man! She can't believe it almost a year since he went to join Great Grandma in heaven. They would have been married 78 years this month.
Love,
Suki
