Instead of sleeping in, my Mom got me up really early for a surprise hiking adventure. She explained we had to get up when it was still cool outside, Pugs and certain best friend, Brandy, will melt in hot weather. (If sugar melts in the rain, guess that's true for hot weather too). That explains why I have been in the house so much, I kept hearing the term, "Summer hibernation".
When Aunt Toad picked us up, It was strange, what, no Brandy...what the heck..? She always goes... hope she's ok. Then the humans explained, it's a scouting mission, to make sure the creek was safe after all the rain from Mr. Hurricane Alex. Lucky me, hiking twice in one day. Felt bad for Brandy, only once for her. The humans were looking out for her safety, since she runs to the water at first sight. Don't tell her this, but she looks like an Otter when she swims.
We had a fun morning celebrating the 4th of July. Hopefully Brandy won't stress much tonight with the neighborhood fireworks.P.S.
While hiking on trails, watch out for these thing-a-mig-jigs, it made Aunt Toad jump really high! Thought she was going to land in the tree tops.
Looks like in that second picture from top you're trying not to let the water get your face, almost like a disdain for the water! So royally a pug!
ReplyDeleteI can do without Brandy splashing me in the face, she was trying to get me to play tag. Now on the other paw, in my spiffy life jacket, I love to swim.
ReplyDeleteHi Suki!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the blogosphere :) I'm glad you're giving water a chance. It's the best chance we have at not melting. People always freak out when they see me swimming.
"Pugs can't swim!" they say.
"Yes we can!" I say (Pres Obama says that too)
My human went to your Austin place once. She said it was "very cool" but "dead hot". Where we live "dead hot" is anything hotter than like 80 and that hardly ever happens. Does it really get 80 in Austin?
Hi Puglet!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the welcome. This is so much fun.
When I swim, Humans stop, stare, then laugh and smile. Its nice to make people smile.
Austin is great, the humidity is horrible. Outside adventures are done early in the morning. It really does get to be 80 degrees, starting in November. You are so lucky to live in a cooler climate.
Please tell Dutch I said hi!
