New Acquaintace and Research

This weekend, we went on a shopping and research adventure downtown Austin. Little did I know when I left the house what was in store, Oh my lands sake! (As my Great Grandma use to say).
First stop was Mercury, a really cool eclectic store. As the saying goes in Austin, "Keep Austin Weird"; you never know what your going to see. That is true for this adventure... I was minding my own business, but I felt like something was watching me. Mom was busy oohing and awing over all the chotchkies when I discovered this cat like creature.
Not sure what it was, Mr. White Stripe did have an unusual aroma... But he was nice enough to pose with me in this really cool chair. I think my wirey-ness may have scared him stiff, he didn't move much, if at all.
After we left unknown creature, we headed off to do our research with Triathlon Man to Mellow Johnny's (Lance Armstrong's bike shop, I looked, but he was no where to be found). Mom is on a mission to get a bike. Not just any bike, this bike has to be pug friendly with a basket, J-Frame and a bell. Mom really liked the orange bike, she said its the same color as the mini-bike she had when she was a kid, many, many moons ago. Yes, one like a motorcycle. After Mom was fitted for a bike, it was my turn to get fitted for my basket. Before today, I didn't know bikes existed or even that I could ride on one and had to be fitted for a basket. Trying this basket, I immediately claimed it as my own... I heard lots of aweeessss while getting comfy in my new ride. Mom doesn't like the wire thing on the back of the basket, but this can be removed. Wonder are there pug size helmets? This was our first stop on bike research.

My friends, do you bike ride?

  1. No bike riding here, but it looks like FUN!

I can't believe you met a skunk. Wow, that is so cool.

  2. Suki,
You scared me at first...when I saw the picture I thought that was a real skunk and he was spraying you. ICKY! I saw it on TV once and mom said that is bad news. I'm so glad this one didn't move. Whew! You look so cute in the basket...reminds me of the Wizard of Oz. My mom would like to bike more [with me] but she knows I couldn't be trusted to stay in the basket. I think she'd have to get one of those pull behind carts for kids or something. You'll have to tell us all about your biking adventures!
    Love,

  3. Whoa. I saw one of those freaky cats in the wild once, over where the cows live. Dutch got yelled at BIG TIME for wanting to chase it and my human like never yells. I got leashed before I could even try.

No idea what the big deal was. Obviously you got up close + personal with freaky cat and lived :)

    LOVE the bike basket!

  4. Wowsers a freaky cat is right. I bet it was pretty interesting.
And the bike?! I've always wanted to...we haven't worked up to it yet. I bet you're better behaved than me. Can't wait to see pictures of you riding along.

  5. No bike rides here, either, but I bet it would be fun. I have four puggers so I would need a really big basket! Pug Hugs, Ellen

  7. Hi Pug,

Sorry Dutch got yelled at, but your Mom was trying to protect him. The cat creatures can be really stinky. Not good.

  8. Hi Minnie,

It will be a while before we get a bike. The weather is to freaking hot, Mom & I would both melt. But I can't wait.

  9. Hi Ellen,

What if you get a pull behind cart like Payton was talking about, then you could take all the puggies.

  16. Hi Oisín,

Do glad you don't have the crazy-cat-like creatures. They can be really smelly and make you smell bad too, not good.

Hope your eyes are getting better.

    Hugs,
    Suki
