My Special Guest, ARNIE!

I'm finally able to tell you about my special guest, Arnie. Mom's lap top went kaput, after multiple evenings on the phone with tech support this week, its finally working again.

So here's the recap: I knew something was up, it was Sunday morning & I wasn't sleeping in. Hmmm... Mom & I were outside when she scooped me up & started waving. Be still my beating heart, it was ARNIE and his Mom! They came all the way to visit us! Forget sleeping in, let's go adventuring. Immediately our usual game of chase started. Whoo hoo. (side note... Mom - next time have the video ready, just sayin'). But wait, where was Gracie? My friend stayed home to keep her Dad company. Rumor has it, she was not a happy camper when Arnie left for the adventure.

First stop was hiking at Walnut Creek. I haven't been to the creek since I went with Brandy. But I wanted to show Arnie where Brandy taught me how to swim. I know in my heart, Brandy was with us.

When we arrived at the park, the parking lot was full. We thought the trails were going to be full of people. We headed down from the trail head towards the creek. Thankfully we only saw a couple of guys on mountain bikes, it was as if we had the whole park to ourselves.

With the recent rains, the creek actually had water. Enough water, Arnie even went for a quick swim. So quick, Mom didn't get any pictures.

All of a sudden, Arnie made a beeline for the dam. Before I knew it, he was on the other side. Now that's an agility Pug.

Here's a flashback of one my adventures with Brandy at the creek. Arnie, try this next time, run full speed & jump to the bank.

After the creek, we loaded up and headed downtown Austin for brunch. Here we are posing at City Hall. Our expressions are priceless, I'm about to sneeze while Arnie is yawning.

Brunch destination, Coal Vines, Mom's ultimate favorite pizza pie place. The humans had mimosas and pie & didn't even share any morsels with us.

Arnie was trying to persuade Mom, Please, just one little taste of the pizza pie. At least the nice waiter gave us a bowl of water and lots of pets.

Then it happened, Arnie & I were the center of attention. A group of University of Texas graduates were having brunch too. They kept smiling & pointing at us. When they got ready to leave, they came over to meet Arnie & myself. Forget about the pizza pie, it was time to pose for their phones & receive lots of pets. As they all walked off, we heard, "they are just the cutest... how sweet....".

After brunch we stopped past Austin City Limits. I knew Arnie had a rocker side.

On the way back to the parking garage, we stopped past the park at Mom's office building. We posed on the hill where it was super windy, Chicago windy. Notice, I'm standing still.. my bat ears only appear when I'm running at bionic speed, but not this time. The humans couldn't stop laughing.

Wow, what a day it's been so far. Then is was time for HOCKEY!!!! Yeppers, my second hockey game & Arnie's first. Texas Stars vs Lake Erie Monsters. Oh my goodness, what a fun time, Arnie & I even made it on the jumbo-tron three times!

Arnie's Mom thought it was funny that I actually watched the game, heck yes. I wanted to be down there chasing the puck & riding the Zamboni. Now Arnie had his mind else where.... Let's just say he wanted to help the people behind us eat their food.

As we were leaving the game, Score! We found something for our poo eating pal Puglet. This could be a dream "Pugletmobile", just like Batman's batmobile.

After a good nights rest, it was time to head out to another adventure. We drove up and down the hills, around the curves and bends in the road, watching out for deer, then we finally arrived at our destination, The Lost Pines.

Exploring the property was fun. I'm just glad we didn't have to get to close to the cactus. But looks as if Arnie is eyeing something. Hehee, snort.

After a visit to the butterfly garden, it was time to find some shade and grab some lunch by the pool. We really wanted to go swimming and catch a raft and float, but not this time. Lunch was yummy, Mom even shared a few pieces of the bacon from her sandwich with us.

Then it was time to go home. Once we got home, it was time for Arnie to head to his home. Oh no!, this adventure went by to fast, I didn't want to see him leave, why can't he can't stay longer?
