So here's the recap: I knew something was up, it was Sunday morning & I wasn't sleeping in. Hmmm... Mom & I were outside when she scooped me up & started waving. Be still my beating heart, it was ARNIE and his Mom! They came all the way to visit us! Forget sleeping in, let's go adventuring. Immediately our usual game of chase started. Whoo hoo. (side note... Mom - next time have the video ready, just sayin'). But wait, where was Gracie? My friend stayed home to keep her Dad company. Rumor has it, she was not a happy camper when Arnie left for the adventure.
First stop was hiking at Walnut Creek. I haven't been to the creek since I went with Brandy. But I wanted to show Arnie where Brandy taught me how to swim. I know in my heart, Brandy was with us.
When we arrived at the park, the parking lot was full. We thought the trails were going to be full of people. We headed down from the trail head towards the creek. Thankfully we only saw a couple of guys on mountain bikes, it was as if we had the whole park to ourselves.
After the creek, we loaded up and headed downtown Austin for brunch. Here we are posing at City Hall. Our expressions are priceless, I'm about to sneeze while Arnie is yawning.
On the way back to the parking garage, we stopped past the park at Mom's office building. We posed on the hill where it was super windy, Chicago windy. Notice, I'm standing still.. my bat ears only appear when I'm running at bionic speed, but not this time. The humans couldn't stop laughing.
Arnie's Mom thought it was funny that I actually watched the game, heck yes. I wanted to be down there chasing the puck & riding the Zamboni. Now Arnie had his mind else where.... Let's just say he wanted to help the people behind us eat their food. After a good nights rest, it was time to head out to another adventure. We drove up and down the hills, around the curves and bends in the road, watching out for deer, then we finally arrived at our destination, The Lost Pines.
Exploring the property was fun. I'm just glad we didn't have to get to close to the cactus. But looks as if Arnie is eyeing something. Hehee, snort.
Then it was time to go home. Once we got home, it was time for Arnie to head to his home. Oh no!, this adventure went by to fast, I didn't want to see him leave, why can't he can't stay longer?
Suki,
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you and Arnie had the most awesome adventure visit! I can't believe you guys got to watch a hockey game!

Hi Suki!
ReplyDeleteYou and Arnie make a cute couple. I can't believe how much stuff you guys did. I'd have to sleep for a week to recover!
I love that photo of you leaping off the dam. That's a huge jump, Suki! That photo with your ears standing up due to those high winds was hilarious as well.
I can't believe you guys got to go to a hockey game. How cool! Sounds like Austin is a very dog-friendly place.
Glad you had such a fun adventure with Arnie. You guys sure are pros at posin'. I hope you were rewarded with many treats!
-Love,
Sid.
Hi Sid,
DeleteCan you believe we did this in two days? I felt like the engerzier bunny.
You should have our Mom's laughing when my ears went up from the wind, I thought they were going to fall over & roll down the hill.
We did get lots of treats & attention. Austin is super-duper dog friendly & people love Pugs.
If you are ever in Austin, we will have to go adventuring together.
Hugs,
Suki
