Ring of Fire

On Sunday evening, as the sun was setting, we set up the camera to try to capture the Ring of Fire solar eclipse. I've never seen one before, this one was 18 years in the making. The last one was way many moons ago before I was born. Mom said I couldn't watch the eclipse because the sun would hurt my brown eyes.

Then it was time. after waiting, the moon started to slide in front of the sun. Just as the sun was setting behind the trees Mom captured the moon just starting to cover the sun.

Mark your calendars, June 6th for another event, Venus is expected to cross over the path of the sun.

Now for some other news. The Austin American Statesman newspaper is having a photo contest and I need your help. The category is Dogs in Water and would really appreciate your vote. Anyone is welcome to vote, one vote per day, you just need to register. Voting ends on Sunday, May 27th.

    Awwwww suki you are just so super cute! I love the photo of you in the water and will vote for sure!!

    That sure is one cool photo. Glad you didn't look directly at the eclipse though - wouldn't want to damage those baby browns. :)

      Mom thinks I could be part fish, I love to swim. When you go to the beach, run a few laps for me in the sand. I haven't been to a beach, but a sandy volley ball court is awesome to run in.
