Now for the rest of Aunt Christy's adventure.
Every morning, I would push open the door & sneak into her room, run up the bed-stairs (I have bed-stairs that I use so my bionic knees won't get hurt.) and wake up Aunt Christy with lots of kisses.
Turns out Mom & Aunt C are turning me into a real foodie, perfect for a Pug. One morning we loaded up and headed to
Round Rock Donuts. Travel Channel's Adam Richmond, of
Man vs Food has even devoured the original colossal yeastie-egg donut. Please don't adjust our screen, no optical illusion here, Yes, this donut is bigger than ME.

Before the heat set in, we headed to the
Garden, my favorite place in Austin. On the agenda, discover the allusive dinosaur.

On the tails, The Garden is a great place to explore. All the different smells, enjoying the blooming flowers, hearing the birds sing, plus scoring treats for posing for the canon.

One item on the must see at the Garden was to find the elusive Dinosaur.
Gracie, Arnie & I have previously searched for the
dino, but no official sighting of the creature. Until now. With Aunt C's guidance, I tried sneaking up, hiding under the palm leaf. Being vewy, vewy quite, trying to discover the dino.

Then it happened, Aunt C scooped me up in her arms to show me the dino, low & behold there it was! An official Dino sighting! Can't wait to show Arnie & Gracie the next time they visit.

After the Garden it was time to get lunch. Destination
Cantina Laredo for Mexican food.

Downtown Austin is a super Pug friendly city. When the host asked if we wanted to sit inside, we thought he miss spoke, so we headed to the patio without a second thought. With the summer-hibernation temps quickly setting in, Mom asked the waiter if it was true, that we could sit inside. In two shakes of a lambs tail, we were inside, chowing down on table side made guacamole, salsa & adult beverages for the humans. Aunt C even shared her zucchini with me. This was THE best lunch ever!

The last adventure planned before Aunt C headed home was kayaking on Town Lake (Colorado River). All the essential kayaking gear was packed. In the wee morning hours, a Thunderstorm blew thru.

Nix the kayaking. The Lake was filled with cruddy run off. With the storm it was time to be lazy & sleep in.
After the rain passed, we still headed downtown with our backup plan. We parked in the parking garage, road an elevator (which makes my tummy feel funny).

Then we were headed to brunch at
Coal Vines, for the best pizza in Austin. The last time Arnie was in town, I took him here for brunch.

After brunch, we explored the shops in the Warehouse District on Second Street.

I have to admit, I totally agree with this sign, Austin Rocks!

It was wonderful having Aunt C here, but I was really sad to see her go. Shhh, don't tell, I over heard the humans planning an adventure. Hmmm.
Suki - my mama is SO HAPPY that you got to meet Aunt Christy (we're so excited to meet her, too!), but that Texas-sized doughnut is making her crazy. Holy moley!

ReplyDeleteHi Noodle,
DeleteIt was a fun adventure! When ever you & Mochi & your parents in town, we must get together!
The stink eye was from being sad that Aunt Christy left & from being tired from all the adventuring.
Hugs to you & Mochi,
Suki

Hi Suzy,
DeleteMom just checked Round Rock Donuts website, unfortunately, they don't ship, due to the donuts not containing perspectives.

Arnie here - Gracie's still recovering. She fainted over the huge donut, and all the other awesome food places you went to. I'm just impressed that you found the dino!!!!
ReplyDeleteMom and dad went on a little recon mission for your visit. They visited a winery that's dog friendly - food and wine. What's not to love.
Thanks for sharing your adventure with us, and for helping Aunt C through this very tough time. You're just the gal for that job.
See you soon.
Arnie
Hi Arnie,
DeleteHope Gracie recovered from her fainting spell. I can't wait to show you two the Dino.
Oh, la, la, a winery! I can't wait. Did you know when I went on my road trip to the Farm, Payton & I had our first get together at a winery? It was so much fun.
It was a blessing to have Aunt C here, we laughed, cried, but the best part, she was here.
I can't wait to see you all!
Hugs,
Suki

Hi Tweedles,
DeleteIf you are ever in my neck of the woods, please let me know. We will have to go to the Garden & out to eat!
Hugs,
Suki
OMP, Suki - I know you are tiny, but still, that donut is RE-DONK-ULOUS! I hope you at least got a taste. You look super cute in the photo of you hiding under the palm leaf. Glad your visit with Aunt C was so much fun! She's super cool. I only got to meet her once but she gave me lots of back scratches and apple treats! Austin sure sounds like a great place to be a pug!
ReplyDelete-Love,
Sid.
Hi Sid,
DeleteThe donut didn't even come close to my pug mug. I'm wirey enough as it is, can't emagine what would happen if I had sugar.
You & I are so blessed to have Aunt C in our lives!
Hugs,
Suki
Wow you had so much funs!!! What an adventure, specially the dinosaur! Oh and that is one big ass donut!
