Santa Knows

My first airline flight... excited about riding in my new spiffy-yellow-airline-approved carrier AND have to do What?... a weigh in... Really? Pugs weigh in at the airport too besides the vet? ... let's try the bat-big-brown-eyes technique to get out of the carrier for an airline agents photo op and treats.

It worked! ... this is a breeze. Wait - hold the presses! Oh no, I have to go under a seat in front of my Mom, in the carrier. Speaking of "breezes", being from Texas, hope no one has devoured any frijoles.

Once we took off towards space, a voice came from the ceiling of the plane..."thank you for joining us... we will be flying at 38,000 feet...on our way to Nashville". But what about Santa? How will he find me at Neena & Papa's home?

Then it happened... there... IT'S SANTA! Waiting for me at baggage claim. Santa knows!

  2. Dear Suki,
I knew santa would find you.
Glad you had a good flight experience. Maybe many more to come in the future? Especially since you have that nice bright yellow carrier. You can't let that go to waste or pile dust on it. But question do you think I would fit under those seats? That would be a fun adventure to go on with you. I say we go somewhere with sand :). YOU know you would love it. I heard was some stuff that is white in Nashville this past weekend. Does it feel like sand? Did you run in it?
Boy was you really high up. Was you scared? Did you see any water up that high. I hear there is a river you went over?
Sure did miss you and can't wait til we have more of our adventures.

  3. Hi Suki,
I told you.. they make us ride under the seat.. it was awful. And I'm a black pug and my mom couldn't see me in the dark under the seat. Then the plane lady said something about going in the plane bottom.. freaked me right out.

Your plane experience was much better than mine, you got to meet Santa in the airport.
Hey, next time there is an agility trial in Austin maybe we can meet.

  4. Suki,
I TOLD Santa to be on the lookout for you in Nashville. I knew you were worried he would miss you. Thank goodness I got that elf job, huh?

  5. What kind of carrier is that? My mom has big plans for my agility career, and they involve flying sometimes. That is, if she can stop my habit of shrieking at the top of my lungs as soon as I want out of the carrier. That won't go over well on a plane, I'm sure.

He does know. Rumor has it, Santa watches all year long, so we all must be on our best behavior.

  7. Hi Brandy,
I don't think you would fit under the seat. A sand adventure should be on our list. We can take a road trip to the coast, sometime before it gets pug melting weather. The snow was cool on my toes, I would rather walk on it than wet grass.

  8. Mr. Emmitt,
It was hard for Mom to see me under the seat, I bet you were invisible. Sorry you had such a bad experience! Pugs should never go in the bottom of the plane.

Would like to meet you next time you are in Austin. Your human is welcome to email my Mom. I want to start agility, don't tell Mom, but she needs pointers on how to get me started for agility.

    Hugs,
    Suki

  9. Hi Elf Noodles,
When I saw Santa, I looked for the sleigh and didn't see it anywhere, you must have been flying it, circling the airport waiting for Santa to finish visiting. Great Job!

  10. Gracie,
My normal vehicle carrier is an airline approved Sherpa, unfortunately it was to tall for this airline requirements. Mom went to the airlines website and for $45 bought a spiffy new carrier. She freaked at the size, but I had plenty of room to move around. Since it didn't come with a woolie lining, she sewed a one to keep me warm. Just keep in mind, I'm a 12 pound pug-a-roonie. Hope this helps. Good luck with agility.
