Surprise Night Time Adventure

With Sunday being the 54th consecutive day of 100 degrees or greater of squelching, Pug and human melting weather. Daytime adventures are out of the question. If there's a will, there's a way... just have to improvise...

It was past my bedtime when Mom said one of my favorite things... "Are you ready?" Heck Yes! Flying down the stairs from the bed, we were out the door & loaded up and off to our friends house that has a pool. How cool is this... a night time swimming adventure.

I'm always ready for a swim, but after watching Shark Week this week, I was a little worried. Thankfully, the humans reassured me no sharks in the pool.

What a relief.... no sharks. Now I can swim, swim & swim. I highly recommend swimming at night, under the moon and stars...it's very peaceful. Plus it's great to swim with my Mom. Next time, I think I will challenge her to a race, I would totally leave her in my wake.

  1. Oh Suki! You are so brave! I love the pictures of you swimming! I'm so glad that you found some relief from the oppressive heat!! Guess you should become nocturnal until it cools down!

Btw, Noodle was so terrified by the idea of swimming that he couldn't comment himself!

    Sending you some cooling juju,
    Noodle and Mochi's mom

  2. Noodle's & Mochi's Mom,
Please tell Noodle, I didn't mean make him terrified...let him know this is great therapy for my bionic knees. Have to keep them in shape.

Nocturnal is a great idea, sounds like a plan.

    Hugs,
    Suki

  3. Hey Suki,
Your mom is the coolest! How nice of her to take you on such a neat adventure! You look like a great swimmer, and super cute! I'm just beginning. It's a little scary, but having treats in the water helps me to forget about it. Mom and dad want me to try it to help my legs. I think I need a new life vest to feel more confident...a pink one with flowers just like yours! Keep thinking outside the box to stay cool. We are getting a break for a few days later this week.
    Love,
    Payton

  4. Hi Suki,
I am so glad you have a way to cool down. Brigitte swam this past week on vacation for the first time in her 11years. She loved it. Me and Sluggo definitely went deeper into the water than ever before too. The heat is a great motivator!

Good minds think alike, especially with fashionable life jackets.

  12. Hi Minnie & Mack,

Winter can't get here fast enough. But Austin's winters aren't as severe as in your neck of the woods.

    Hugs,

  13. Suki you look so cute in the pool! I bet you could totally win in a race too. We got Tuni's chillow pillow online off some random drug store. we are sure if you search chillow pillow you will find one. Its for humans but the dogs live it.

    Hugs

  16. Hi Pooh Bear & Tigger

Cooling off in the pool was great. A cold front can't get here fast enough.

  17. Night time swimming, sweet! The mosquitos carry you away here at night, so we haven't done that. But maybe this weekend, we'll get mom to light the tiki torches and let us swim then!
Glad you got to cool off.

  18. Hi S.F.P.
Sounds scary, being carried away by mosquito. I don't have mosquitoes if any, instead I have bats in the neighborhood that eat the mosquitoes.

You should insist on tiki torches!

    Hugs,
    Suki

  19. Golly, that looks sooo refreshing! Nothing beats swimming at night. It seems like dusk is the worst time for 'squitos here. Those things are horrible! They bitey my bald spots and it stinks.
