Tropical Storm Don

Since everything is brown and crispy from the drought, almost everyone (except the cotton farmers) were looking forward to Tropical Storm Don. The sky before the storm looks tranquil, but the temperatures are sweltering. With the severity of the drought, it will take a Tropical Storm or Hurricane to catch us up on the rain fall totals.

Friday evening the rain gauge is empty, but Tropical Storm Don is headed to Texas. We waited and checked National Hurricane Center on the progress of the storm... and we waited some more....
A few dark clouds started rolling in... still waiting. Then there were the Sun Beams...

Sunday morning I checked the rain gauge... it's empty...zero, nil, zilch, not even one drop.. really?... I'm so baffled, I can't look at the gauge. T.S. Don took a West-ward turn and passed central Texas.

  1. Really? That is horrible, Suki! I guess my rain dance isn't working for you, but don't worry, I'll keep trying. We're lucky - it's supposed to drop into the low 90's later this week. I bet it'll feel like a cold spell. My mom ordered me a pool like the Southern Fried Pugs use, so I'll be excited to try that out. I think it will help with the boredom and to keep us cool. Have a wonderful week, my friend!
    Love,

  2. Hi my friend Payton,

I couldn't believe it either, no rain! Thank you for doing the rain dance, glad it worked at your house. How crazy is it when we are looking forward to 90 degrees!

I wish we lived closer, just think of the pool parties we would have. Hehee... congrats on the pool, looking forward to seeing pictures.

    Hugs,
    Suki

  3. It's pretty hot here in Central Illinois, too! At least we got a little rain here and there but we're looking forward to some cooler days, too! Soon, I hope! Hang in there and stay cool, if you can! Pug Hugs, Ellen

  6. We were SURE it was going to rain. We moved last weekend, and we figured that Murphy person would have caused it to rain.

    We'll keep hoping....

  7. Oh dear. Be super duper safe!
Rain is cool as long as you get to watch it from the inside.

  11. Hi Minnie & Mack,

Not even one drop. Hopefully Tropical Storm Emily will head into the Gulf instead of staying on the East Coast.

    Suki

  12. Hi Gracie,

Wow, you did try to make it rain, moving, kinda of like washing your car.

Hope the move went smoothly. Enjoy your new backyard. Just don't melt in your hot weather.

    Hugs,
    Suki
