Beyond Brown & Crispy, Part 2

After running in the sand, searching and searching, I finally found the water. Before Mom could get the video camera started, I was in the water. Yes, without my life jacket, Mom was surprised, which you can hear at the beginning in the video. If you listen closely, you can hear me whining... I really wanted to go investigate the thing-a-ma-jig sticking out of the water. But since the Park Ranger was keeping an eagle eye on us and the Park requires that I remain on leash, the object remains unidentified. Could it be something like the loch ness monster?

Leaving Bob Wentz Park, Mom started laughing at the Garmin. It thinks the 4-Runner is in the lake, didn't realize I was riding in an amphibious vehicle. Garmin needs to update it's drought Lake Travis level information. Hehee, snort.

After "driving out of the water", next stop was Mansfield Dam Park. This area of the park is the designated swimming area. Apparently you need to be a rock climber to get to the water. Normally the water level would be where we are standing.

The Park Department has human life jackets to borrow, but no rock repelling gear.

Only 10 days until my cool adventure. Here's another hint I received... I've never been there before, but it's something I have already done. Now how can that be?... I'm confused.

  1. Suki,
Were you scared when you realized you didn't have your life jacket on?

  2. Hi Suki! I really like the picture of you climbing the drift wood. But, um, you have a little dirt on your mug. It's no big deal, but I thought you might want to know. Anyway, that is so funny you were driving in the lake according to that Garmin guy. I'm so curious about your upcoming trip. Could it be camping or hiking in the mountains? I can't wait to find out!

  3. Hi Noodles,
Being in the water without my life jacket was fun. But it may have been a different story if the water was deeper.

    Hugs,
    Suki

  4. Hi Payton,

The dirt on my face was crunchy when I licked it off and tasted yucky.

I'm curious too, maybe hiking or camping, hmmm. Hopefully I'll get more hints, will let you know if I do.

    Hugs,
    Suki

  5. You found water! We are keeping an eye on that storm in the Gulf, too. Our grandparents are northeast of Corpus Christi and have been begging for rain, like all of Texas. We are hoping that it drenches Texas without any damage or flooding. Those aquifers need to recharge. We even saw that they may have to evacuate the San Marcos salamander!

  6. Suki,
You are having some really "Cool" adventures! Your mom has some great adventure ideas!

I see a carving in that driftwood... We must talk to Papa about that when he comes for a visit.

Look forward to your next adventure.
